What do actors need for auditions?

1. Sing a Song

You should be prepared to sing one song, typically a verse+chorus from a Broadway show (bring music for the accompanist to play).

2. Dance a Dance

Since our show features lots of dancing for both prioncipals and ensemble, you will be asked to dance so the choreographer can asses your abilities. Please wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes (no flip-flops please!).

3. Read a Line (or two)

The directors will want to hear you to read sides or deliver a short monologue or soliloquy for your audition, and you will be asked to read several passages from the script (in conjunction with other actors).

What do musicians need for auditions?

1. Play a Fast (up-tempo) Song

You should be prepared to play one song that is representative of a fast or up-tempo passage that highlights your capabilities on your chosen instrument(s). Please bring music for the accompanist (if applicable).

2. Play a Slow (lyrical) Song

You should also be prepared to play one song that is representative of a slower lyrical or melodic passagespecific to your chosen instrument(s). Please bring music for the accompanist (if applicable).

Audition Info & Guidelines

Except in rare occasions, our productions are NOT pre-cast; all actors who participate in auditions will be given equal consideration. Most roles are appropriate for all students ages 13 and up; most of our cast consists of high school students across northeast Indiana. We highly recommend attending an audition to see how you might fit in.
